This is the final cut for our preliminary task. We believe that although relatively safe, this film adheres to the conventions of basic filmmaking, and conveys the story in a way that keeps the audience interested and entertained
Strengths
- Cutting on action and continuity. The story was clear and easy to follow
- Adherence to the 180 degree rule prevented the audience from becoming disorientated
- Soundtrack used reflected the action
Weaknesses
- Sound continuity often left some shots too quiet or too loud. Some speech was lost
- Shots were relatively safe, no adventurous techniques
- Story was plain and slightly generic
Targets
- Explore new shot techniques and lengths, avoid using the tripod or stedicam shots
- Work on equalising diegetic and non-diegetic sound
- Create an interesting storyline to attract the audience
